We work closely with farms, estates, and hospitality businesses to design solutions that are not only environmentally responsible, but operationally effective.

Gina Shoemaker
Managing Director
Gina has over 28 years of agricultural and horticultural experience as well as several certifications in lawn and ornamental landscaping, Organic Gardening and Food Security, and an International Pesticide License.
She currently serves as a climate reality ambassador for former U.S Vice President, Al Gore. Relocating from The United States to South Africa in 2003, Gina’s first project in South Africa was the development of The Panorama Composting Plant, which recycled over 10,000 tons of organic waste on a daily basis and developing a large scale aerobic composting operation and a client base to match. Since 2003, Gina has implemented many organic farming schemes, maintenance contracts, and developed the commercial worm farm operation which generates organic fertilizer for any size waste generator. Gina’s extensive experience is her knowledge of Commercial Grounds maintenance contracts that have won many awards.
Kerry Knowles
Communication Director
Kerry has been active in the hotel, tourism, events, hospitality, and public relations industry for over 30 years, working with leading blue-chip organisations on high-profile events, community initiatives, and stakeholder engagement programmes.
Her professional highlights include involvement in landmark projects such as the Nelson Mandela Bridge Launch, the Constitutional Court development, Fashion District activation, Unite for Nelson Mandela, Mercedes-Benz Dealer of the Year Awards, Anglo American Presidential Land Handover, South Africa Scenarios 2030, International Film and TV Dialogue, Global Citizen Festival, and Route2Roots (Discovering Our Indigenous Roots & Township Tourism).
Throughout her career, Kerry has worked closely with diverse communities and has consistently focused on integrating innovation and nature-based solutions to drive sustainable community upliftment.
She is a strong advocate for food security as a pathway to freedom, believing that the ability to grow one’s own food represents true independence in a rapidly evolving technological world where shared mobility and accommodation solutions are increasingly common.
After meeting Gina, Kerry developed a deeper understanding of organic and carbon farming, particularly the role of worm farming as a simple yet powerful starting point for restoring soil health and regenerating ecosystems.
During the COVID-19 period, Kerry followed her passion for environmental and social impact by joining Green Earth Concepts, where she focuses on community engagement and stakeholder collaboration to create meaningful, sustainable change.
She is deeply aware of the environmental challenge posed by food waste and garden refuse, which are among the largest contributors to landfill overflow. With limited remaining landfill capacity in systems such as Pikitup, she champions worm farming and carbon farming solutions as scalable approaches that can transform organic waste into valuable green resources—supporting soil regeneration, creating new revenue streams, and contributing to climate resilience by returning carbon to the earth.
